Ensure A Successful Sale Of Your Home
|
|
|
Here are some tips you might not have contemplated in the normal preparation of selling your home:
- Remove any extreme political materials.
Clean up any spills on the driveway or garage.
Visit a model home and see the ultimate example of staging.
Thin out your wardrobe and donate to a charity (lighten up the closets).
Remember what you loved about your house the first time you saw it and tell your realtor what it was.
Have a garage sale for all the items you do not use or need.
Figure out your monthly utility bills to give to the buyers if asked.
Find pictures of your home in different seasons especially if your home is on the market in the winter. Place with other marketing items for you home.
Make sure all toilets flush properly.
Add an automatic toilet bowl cleaner to every toilet.
Clean out and organize the cabinet under the kitchen sink (for some reason men tend to look there).
Put out a new welcoming doormat at each exterior door.
Pressure-wash the exterior of your home.
Replace your house number, or be sure it is clearly visible from the street.
Replace all burned out light bulbs. Consider replacing with softer light in certain rooms.
Spray silicon spray on all squeaky or tight hinges, sliding door tracks, etc.
Get some lightly scented air fresheners that are not overpowering.
